Float casing collarCasing floating is mainly applied in horizontal wells and extended reach wells. During casing lowering, the float casing collar shall be connected to the casing string to form temporary barrier in the casing. Air is filled in the casing string below the float casing collar, while drilling fluid is filled in the casing string above the float casing collar. Thus, the buoyancy of the casing string below the float casing collar is increased, the lower casing string is in the floating state during casing lowering, and the resistance is reduced during casing lowering. Moreover, as the casing string above the float casing collar is filled with drilling fluid, the pressure that pushes the casing string into the bore hole is increased, realizing smooth casing lowering.
